"Number One" is a 21st Century update of the tradition of abstract "Action Painting." I use computer algorithms to manipulate a digital image in real time, recording the "performance" to create the final art piece. Jeremy Blake is a kindred soul and pioneer in the practice of computer-generated video art. He helped legitimize digital video in the eyes of the Art World. Sadly, he passed at the age of 35, in 2007. “Number One” is dedicated to the work of an artist who left us far too early in his life and career.
